On McBee Dynasty, Steven McBee Jr.’s girlfriend Allie Eklund revealed the business behind her influencer career, where she has built a following of 450K on Instagram. During negotiations to promote McBee Farms’ tallow skincare line, Allie says her “normal” rate is $10,000 per post with a 20% commission on sales.
I wanted to know if this was really Allie’s average rate so I did a deep dive into her Instagram following and brand deals.
Here are some of the brands Allie has worked with, and what other influencers have reported about their earnings. Keep in mind that rates vary from influencer to influencer and these are just estimates based on what’s been reported about each brand.
Allie Eklund negotiates her rates with her then-boyfriend, Steven McBee Jr on McBee Dynasty.
In general, Allie should be able to charge $8,000 for a picture post, up to $15,000 for a video/reel, and $3,000 for a story. If she does 2 campaigns a month, she’s making $20,000 a month. If she does 5 campaigns a month, she’s making $50,000 a month. Add on another $15,000 for earned commissions. She’s probably making $400,000 to $500,000 a year before taxes, and will see a boost from being on McBee Dynasty.
Allie Eklund is a successful influencer who met Steven McBee through Instagram.
Of course, these are just estimates with what information is publicly available. I didn’t include that Allie has 177k followers on TikTok and makes more money on that platform. Also, influencer rates are almost never standard and depend on location, their niche, the demographics of their followers, conversion rates, and many other little details. I did estimate that Allie is on the high end of the ranges given for an influencer of her size because she seems great at her job, hardworking, and she has the perfect type of demographic following for influencer work.
So, was Allie being truthful about how much she makes?
I think Allie is rounding up slightly when she calls $10,000 and 20% commission her average rate. However, it’s completely standard to “lie up” in a meeting like this and anchor the conversation to an aggressive number. This is near universal advice: start with an ambitious number so you have room to negotiate toward favorable terms.
There’s an argument to be made that in this specific situation, Allie is negotiating with people she considers her future family. Additionally, she is being asked to mentor Steven’s soon-to-be sister-in-law, Kacie Adkinson, and teach her the influencer ropes — so her being transparent would be incredibly beneficial. However, Allie’s rate needs to be locked down first, so I don’t think she is doing anything wrong even if she is rounding up a bit.
