Max and Oskar Muñiz turn into college freshmen this fall, and Jennifer Lopez is spending the last stretch of summer showing them Rome. The 57-year-old was photographed on July 27 walking the city with her 18-year-old twins, one eating ice cream beside her, the other trailing along with earbuds in and a phone in hand.

The twins, who she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, turned 18 in February and graduated high school in June. They’re headed to college around August, which makes days like this rare and running out.

Lopez has talked openly about how much the goodbye weighs on her after years of it being just the three of them. The Rome trip caps a long European summer that ran through Wimbledon, the Dolce & Gabbana shows in Sicily, and her July 24 birthday in Paris.

She keeps her kids mostly out of frame, so a slow afternoon of gelato and window-shopping together reads less like a photo op and more like a mother banking the time she has left.
