A New Hampshire man was arrested after a police response to a motel in Hampton Monday morning.
Hampton police said the Seacoast Emergency Response Team responded to the Hampton Motor Inn on Route 1 as officers “executed a high-risk search warrant and arrest warrant.”
Police said they received multiple reports that 47-year-old Jason Brooks, a Hampton resident, was in possession of a firearm, which is prohibited due to a prior felony conviction.
Brooks was taken into custody without incident, police said, noting that no injuries were reported.
He is charged with a felony count of being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.
Brooks is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in the 10th Circuit Court – Hampton District Division. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
Motorists and pedestrians were asked to avoid the area Monday morning during the police response.
