  • A 40-year-old man let his two sons ride on the back of his Porsche.
  • A witness reported the stunt to police, and the driver was arrested.
  • The man’s wife also posted a clip of the stunt on social media last year.

What the driver of a Porsche Cayman thought would have been a fun activity with his two children has ended up costing a Singaporean man SGD$5,000 ($3,900) and his license for six months. Just because a plan may sound good in your head, that doesn’t mean it’s a smart thing to do in reality.

On October 20, 2025, 40-year-old Singapore resident Prem Anam Sugunakumar had some free time to spend with his seven- and eight-year-old sons. He decided it would be a good idea to have them sit on the trunk of his bright yellow Cayman, facing backward, and holding onto the massive aftermarket wing before driving along the small Dairy Farm Lane, a residential road near a mall.

The two young boys probably had the ride of their lives, but Sungunakumar’s wife posted a brief clip of the stunt on social media. Another motorist also witnessed the two boys clinging onto the Porsche and filed a report with the police.

Before long, Singaporean authorities had tracked down the man and arrested him back in March. He headed to court earlier this week, where he pleaded guilty to one count of committing a rash act to endanger the personal safety of children below the age of 14.

Although the kids have a fun story to tell their friends about the time their dad drove them around on the back of his Porsche, Sungunakumar won’t be driving them to school anytime soon. In fact, as part of his guilty plea, his driver’s license has been suspended for six months. In addition, he was slapped with a SGD$5,000 fine, the maximum allowable financial penalty.

Straits Times reports that the driver has been convicted of driving offenses in the past. Deputy Principal District Judge Kessler Soh said they hoped the punishment would deter him from flagrantly violating driving laws like this again.
