A three-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after being struck by a van at a UK campsite.
The youngster was hit by the vehicle at Red House Farm in Earnley, near Chichester, on Saturday.
The incident took place at approximately 7.30pm, with witnesses reporting an air ambulance at the campsite on Bookers Lane at around 9pm.
Sussex Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made and that enquiries are ongoing.
The boy remains in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: "Emergency services responded to a collision at a campsite in Bookers Lane, Earnley, Chichester, at around 7.30pm on Saturday, August 1.
"A three-year-old boy was injured after he was involved in a collision with a van and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
"No arrests were made and police are investigating the circumstances."
The family-run campsite is located just three miles from West Wittering Beach in Chichester.
It is a modest site, offering ten pitches for caravans and motorhomes alongside 20 spaces for tents.
