The Mad Catz C.T.R.L. R is a Bluetooth-compatible gamepad for computers, smartphones and tablets, released by Mad Catz Interactive Inc. in 2013.

I have written this unofficial, unaffiliated manual to put all the information I know about the Mad Catz C.T.R.L. R in one place. This manual covers installation, specifications, compatibility, use, firmware updating, calibration and troubleshooting.

In 2015, Mad Catz released a firmware update for the C.T.R.L. R that adds native XInput support to the controller, but as the company went into administration shortly after, I don't believe Mad Catz ever published an official guide on how to do it.

This manual will tell you exactly how to update your C.T.R.L. R to use XInput. Once the controller has been updated, the C.T.R.L. R functions just as well as an Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller for Steam games - the two analogue triggers can be used fully and independently; very handy if you're a fan of racing games such as Need for Speed.

I have included all the drivers necessary to use the C.T.R.L. R on Windows, and the firmware update files to allow XInput.
