An alternative school for North Korean defectors and their children will have a new home in Seoul after relocating three times in 22 years, thanks to support from the South Korean government and Hyundai Motor Group.
Construction for the Yeomyung School in Seoul’s western district of Gangseo is scheduled for completion in 2029, and the school will remain in place for up to 20 years without the need for another move, principal Cho Myung-sook told NK News on Monday.
Yeomyung “will be able to focus solely on education” without having to worry about relocating for a while, she added.
