HOWEVER, even now if you're dealing with Google Messages, YOU HAVE ANOTHER OPTION.I downloaded an app (cant mention the name or this post will get kicked off). But this particular messaging app has Themes, personalization, Categories (called LABELS in this app). It also allow you to create groups of contacts. There are lots of options. You can slide a message to the left & it gives you the option to call the person. We didnt have THAT w/Samsung! There are also membership levels starting with FREE. If you love it, you can choose a level which unlocks a few extras and/or more cloud storage. I've been using it for more than a couple of months & I haven't even begun to explore all the options available. The RCS messaging -- or whatever the problem was that Samsung couldn't provide -- no problem in this app!!I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS APP -- even tho I was just as disappointed with Samsung as all of you. But here's the issue as I understand it: ALL Android phones ARE MIGRATING TO GOOGLE MESSAGES. After all, Android IS Google! And Google has purchased iPhone messaging. So one way or the other, you're getting GOOGLE. If you do nothing you're option is still Google. Even if you purchase a brand new iPhone -- it will come with Google Messaging -- not iPhone Messaging. But -- at least for now, if you want a different messaging app, all you have to do is look for it on the PLAY STORE app.. it has a blue rectangle with a white interior, and three blue dots ● on the white interior.
