Favorite Class Ever Taken: Acting 1, mainly because of the people I had met in the class and how fun the environment was.

Favorite Teacher and Why: Mrs. Rubin, I’ve known her for the longest because my cousin had her first, but I’ve also had her every single year here. I like to think we have a special bond, because it’s one that I haven’t shared with any other teacher.

One Fun Memory from DGS: The Holiday Concert from my Sophomore year, it was the first and only time that I liked the pieces that our band directors made us play. We also got to play while the choir was on stage, and it was a great opportunity to see the rest of my friends.

Looking Forward to: Not being in high school, it feels very constricting in terms of being able to express yourself. As a person of color in a predominantly white high school, it’s been very difficult to find myself. Even as I got better at breaking from those boxes, I still feel like my time outside will be more freeing.
