A mass shooting at Leinbach Park in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on Monday (April 20) left two teenagers dead and five others injured, according to local authorities. Police said the violence began as a planned fight involving several young people, which escalated into gunfire around 9:52 a.m.

Officers arrived to find Erubey Romero Medina, 17, dead in the parking lot and Daniel Jimenez Millian, 16, dead inside the park. Both had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Five other young people—a 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl, a 17-year-old girl, an 18-year-old boy, and a 19-year-old girl—were also shot, with injuries ranging from minor to critical, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department. Their names have not been released due to their ages and the ongoing investigation.
