PSV winger Couhaib Driouech is said to be "open" to a move to Rangers as the Ibrox hierarchy gear up for a fresh offer.

Record Sport disclosed on Wednesday that an initial approach from the Glasgow club was rejected by the Eredivisie title holders. However, it's expected that PSV's £6million asking price will be matched as Derek McInnes intensifies his summer transfer activity.

The 24 year old has featured on Rangers' watchlist of wide players across recent campaigns - though they're not alone in their pursuit, with Danny Rohl's RB Salzburg also showing interest in the Dutch attacker.

According to Voetbal International, the forward is "open to a move to Scotland, where a long-term contract awaits him".

Reports suggest that Driouech would favour a transfer to Scotland rather than Austria, with Rangers now "leading the race" for his services, reports the Daily Record.

Earlier this week, Rangers secured Japanese winger Daisuke Yokota from Hannover, while also monitoring Brighton prospect Amario Cozier-Duberry.

Formal talks have commenced regarding a possible transfer for the 21 year old. The Premier League side rejected a £5million approach from Anderlecht.

The Argus reports that manager Fabian Hurzeler is assessing his forward options after giving the player an opportunity during pre-season, and following Danny Welbeck's departure appears unlikely to reach any swift conclusions.

Meanwhile, the opportunity to secure Jahnoah Markelo from Coventry City seems to be slipping away. Rangers expressed interest in forward Markelo last year, before his €5m transfer from FC Zurich to the Sky Blues in January.

Nevertheless, he may depart following their return to the Premier League, having featured in only five matches for the club since his arrival, with manager Frank Lampard reportedly prepared to sanction a loan move to support the player's progression.

Media outlets south of the border suggest that Al-Ahly are pursuing a deal, with the Coventry Telegraph indicating there remains "strong interest" from Rangers in Markelo.
