Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold8 appears to be off to a strong start in Malaysia, with the company reporting a surge in online traffic shortly after pre-orders opened.

According to Samsung Malaysia, thousands of customers attempted to place their orders at the same time, resulting in exceptionally high demand across its online channels. Interestingly, Samsung says interest in the Galaxy Z Fold8 has even surpassed the more premium Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, with buyers gravitating towards the Fold8’s refreshed form factor, refined design and new user experience.

Samsung says initial allocations of the Galaxy Z Fold8 are being snapped up quickly as pre-orders continue to come in. Customers who wait until the official launch could therefore find themselves having to wait for subsequent shipments if the initial allocation sells out.

Customers who pre-order will automatically be placed on Samsung’s priority fulfilment list, with the earliest deliveries expected from August 11, 2026, although the actual delivery date will depend on stock availability and the purchase channel.

The strong early response comes shortly after Samsung introduced its latest foldable lineup comprising the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8.

In Malaysia, the Galaxy Z Fold8 starts at RM7,299 for the 256GB model, increasing to RM8,099 for 512GB and RM9,699 for 1TB. It is available in Graphite, Cream and Lavender, while Pistachio is offered as an online-exclusive colour.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starts at RM8,099 for 256GB, while the Galaxy Z Flip8 starts at RM5,399 for 256GB.

Samsung is also offering launch rewards worth up to RM1,950 for customers who pre-order the new Galaxy Z Series between July 22 and August 13, 2026.

The promotion includes an exclusive rebate of up to RM800, RM500 instant rebate when paying with selected bank cards, up to RM400 worth of Samsung Rewards Points Booster and an RM250 Samsung Reservation+ Voucher. Customers can also enjoy up to 30% off selected Galaxy accessories, while participating banks offer 0% instalment plans of up to 36 months.

With Samsung reporting demand that is already outpacing early supply, those planning to pick up the Galaxy Z Fold8 may want to secure a pre-order before the current promotion ends on August 13.
