Sophie Cunningham's podcast has been nowhere to be seen since she sparked a storm with her trans athlete comments and her co-host publicly disagreed with her.

Cunningham has never been one to shy away from voicing her opinion, and she has sparked a firestorm around WNBA gender policies since stating her desire to 'protect young girls' in women's sports in an ESPN interview in July.

The Indiana Fever star has been happy to confront the issue head-on since, speaking to reporters on several occasions about the response and doubling down on her comments.

But Cunningham's own podcast, Show Me Something, has not been involved in the discussion at all, with no new episodes of the show released since July 21.

The podcast by The Volume has seen Cunningham weigh in on a number of issues regarding the WNBA and her team. She used it to defend her teammate, Caitlin Clark, and dispute foul calls and other league decisions.

 After Cunningham's initial comments sparked debate, co-host West Wilson contradicted her in a TikTok calling transgender women's participation in sports a 'borderline non-existent issue' and claiming it is amplified by right-wing influencers.

 He accused the discourse they fuel as distracting people from 'actual harmful s***'. 

Wilson and Cunningham grew up together in Missouri. Wilson has gone on to be a reality TV star on 'Summer House' but has recently been embroiled in his own controversy after going public in his relationship with co-star Amanda Batula.

Amanda was married to fellow cast member Kyle Cooke, while West previously dated her friend, Ciara Miller. 

Cunningham defended her stance in the days that followed her ESPN interview, telling the media: 'I said what I said, I think it's common sense.

'I think I'll always believe in that, it's really important to protect children. And that's little girls, who are also involved in that category. I stand by what I said and I'll always believe that.'

'I extend love, I don't dislike anyone, I think there's room for absolutely everyone here,' she added. 'I think there's room to love everyone. 

'I truly think when you get people in the same room, you actually have a lot in common with a lot of people. … But I'm also there to love biological women, and I think there are rights that need to be protected.'

She pushed back on assumptions about her political affiliation.

'I'm very much in the middle,' she said. 'I agree with things on both sides, disagree with things on both sides. And that's all I've ever said about my political beliefs.'
