Season 5 premieres Sept. 24, with episodes hitting Hulu the next day.

His mother, Kate Gosselin, competed on Season 1 of the same show and left after a neck injury on Day 1. Asked whether he hopes she’s watching and what she might learn about him, Collin said he wasn’t there to send her anything.

I did this for me,” he said. “I did it for me and I did it for all the kids out there who have been through rough things and went through hell growing up. I did it for them.”

Kate has denied the abuse claims and previously described him as having behavioral issues. His memoir, “In the Shadow of Eight,” is scheduled for Oct. 13.
