Luke Nash, 43, entered Asda on 4 August, and stole the jacket, which contained keys and a wallet, before walking into a warehouse and taking a box of items.

He targeted Asda again on 25 August, where he jumped over a fence and entered the warehouse stealing vodka.

Nash was arrested at his home in Sycamore Avenue, Dogsthorpe, and charged with theft from person, two counts of non-dwelling burglary, and two counts of theft from shop – one on 18 August from Tesco Express in Dogsthorpe, and the other on 28 August from Co-op, in Loxley Centre, Werrington.

He was jailed for 24 weeks and ordered to pay £150 compensation after admitting the offences at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court.

PC Jack Jenkins, said: “Nash’s offending was brazen, stealing right in front of staff without any regard for the law or the impact his actions have on them.”
