Calgary was front and centre on Tuesday night’s finale of Amazing Race Canada, with teams completing challenges on the Stampede grounds, Smithbilt headquarters, McMahon Stadium, Heritage Park and Spruce Meadows.

In the end, twin sisters Tina and Liz Liao from Hamilton, Ont. — a corporate lawyer and family doctor — were crowned the winners after crossing the finish line at Spruce Meadows first to meet host Jon Montgomery.
The episode began with the three remaining teams, which also included Toronto’s Eamon and Bec Moroney and Michele and Matteo Bruzzese, flying from Winnipeg to Calgary. Their first clue was found on the Stampede grounds. Teams were launched to the top of the Stampede grandstand for a ring-toss challenge before heading to Smithbilt, home of the Official White Cowboy Hat, to fill custom orders to deliver to Inglewood businesses. At McMahon Stadium, they fired high-powered T-shirt guns at a mini goalpost. Next, the teams learned drumline choreography of the Calgary Stampede Showband at the Macron Performance Centre before heading to Heritage Park for a scavenger hunt. The show ended with the teams heading to Spruce Meadows to meet Montgomery at the finish line.
