Chief Minister and AINRC founder N. Rangasamy has expressed optimism in the victory of party candidate Ashok Anand in Thattanchavady bypoll scheduled for October 6.

Addressing the executive committee meeting of AINRC, the Chief Minister said the voters were aware of the “good” work done by his government in Puducherry. “The National Democratic Alliance returned to power in the 2026 Assembly polls. However, we should intensify our campaign in the coming days so that Mr. Anand wins the seat with a greater margin compared to the Assembly polls. Retaining the seat will strengthen the hands of AINRC and NDA government in Puducherry,” he said. 

Earlier, a resolution was adopted thanking the voters of the Union Territory for giving a second term for the NDA government in Puducherry. The resolution said people of Puducherry had reposed faith in the NDA government. The people of Puducherry had acknowledged the development and welfare initiatives of the government headed Mr. Rangasamy, the resolution said. 

AINRC Ministers Malladi Krishna Rao, P. Rajavelu, and former Minister K. Lakshminarayanan attended the meeting.
