Meghan McCain has slammed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as 'D-list royals' who 'couldn't hack it' in America in a scathing new social media post, following the news that the couple is moving back to the UK.

On Wednesday night, Meghan and Harry shocked the world with the announcement that they would be moving back to Britain along with their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five.

The news comes just six years after the couple left their life as royals to move to California, even documenting their 'freedom flight' from Canada to Los Angeles on March 14, 2020, in their 2022 Netflix docuseries. 

It is understood that they will enroll their children in a UK school and will establish a private, non-royal home base in Britain while still maintaining their residences in Montecito, California, and Portugal.

And it looks like McCain, 41, daughter of the late US Senator, John McCain, will not be missing the couple over here in America.

'One thing about Americans is we can see through bulls**t and we don’t like entitled grifters,' McCain wrote in a new post on X Wednesday.

'They could never hack it here and truly no one gives a s**t about D-list royals. Good luck to our friends in the UK, they’re your problem now,' her message concluded.

It's not the first time that McCain has railed against the former royals. 

Last year, upon the premiere of Meghan's Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, McCain called the program 'utterly tone deaf.'

In a lengthy post, she admitted that while she was once a supporter of Meghan, her opinion changed when the Duchess 'disrespected the royal family.' 

'Now that she wants to be American again instead of British aristocracy, what she seems to forget is Americans want real, raw [and] uncensored,' the former co-host of The View wrote in a January 2025 post on X upon the release of the trailer for Meghan's show.

'All of this even in the trailer is highly curated, produced and out of touch. There have been two terror attacks in two days, major wars raging and Americans can’t pay for groceries,' she went on.

Her message continued, in part: 'Do something to help people instead of your ego. This is why the world doesn’t like you, nothing else. Just completely and utterly tone deaf to the moment.'

In 2022, following Meghan and Harry's explosive Netflix docuseries, McCain also penned a column for the Daily Mail, calling the program an 'American-style political hit job.'

'This all seems driven by Harry and Meghan's palatable anger and jealousy against the Royal family and William and Kate in particular,' McCain wrote.

'To put it succinctly, Harry and Meghan were just not able to cut it as royals and now they're lashing out at anyone who can. It's the tantrum of two entitled brats.'

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to California in 2020 with Hollywood seemingly at their feet, armed with their royal titles, global fame and blockbuster deals worth tens of millions of dollars.

There was a reported $100 million Netflix agreement and a $20 million Spotify contract – while podcasts, documentaries and television shows were promised.

Archewell Productions was supposed to turn the Sussexes into serious Hollywood power players, while Meghan later attempted to reinvent herself as a lifestyle entrepreneur with her brand, As Ever.

However, in the years since, their original Netflix contract ended, and the Duchess' series, With Love, Meghan, lasted just two seasons.

King Charles III, who is understood to have been informed of Harry's plans only on Sunday, is said to welcome the opportunity to spend more time privately with his younger son and grandchildren.

But Buckingham Palace's position on Harry and Meghan's official status is understood to be unchanged.

Prince Harry is still reportedly estranged from his older brother, Prince William, and his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales.
