Lucas Davenport connected with Landon Wyman for four touchdown passes in the final eight minutes of the first half, sparking Windham to a 28-7 victory over Sanford in a Class A football game Friday in Windham.

The outburst started when Davenport hit Wyman on a slant pattern over the middle on fourth-and-8 with 7:50 left in the second quarter, tying the game at 7-7.

After a short Sanford punt, Wyman got behind the defense for a 43-yard touchdown.

The same combo struck again for a 35-yard TD on Windham’s next possession, and Davenport’s conversion pass to Tegan Perkins made it 22-7 with 52.3 seconds remaining.

The Eagles (1-1) then recovered a mishandled kickoff, and Wyman caught a 14-yard touchdown pass with 15.7 seconds left.

Sanford (0-2) opened the scoring midway through the first quarter on a 14-yard run by Michael Wiley.

THORNTON ACADEMY 35, SOUTH PORTLAND 21: Brennan Tabor and Noah Fullerton both ran for two touchdowns, and the Trojans (2-0) won their 11th straight game with a victory over the Red Riots (0-2) in South Portland.

Tabor put Thornton in front when he scored on a 5-yard run with 4:06 left in the first quarter. He added a 51-yard run in the third quarter that made it 28-14.

Fullerton scored on a 19-yard run in the second quarter and a 15-yard run in the third.

Josiah Blain added a 7-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Shea Healy threw three touchdown passes for South Portland. His first, a 10-yarder to Jacoby Jellow, tied the game at 7-7. He tied it again at 14-14 with a 68-yard pass to Christopher Salamone in the third quarter. Jellow caught an 8-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.

PORTLAND 25, SCARBOROUGH 0: Alex Martin rushed for two touchdowns in the second half, Justin Bouchard kicked a pair of 33-yard field goals, and the Bulldogs (2-0) shut out the Red Storm (0-2) in Scarborough.

Bouchard’s field goals accounted for all the scoring in the first half. He missed a 43-yard attempt as time expired in the second quarter.

Martin scored on a 1-yard plunge from the Wildcat formation in the third quarter, then added a 39-yard TD run in the fourth after David Gomes gave the Bulldogs a 19-0 lead with a 13-yard run.

GARDINER 28, YORK 0: The Tigers (2-0) scored 21 points in the second half to pull away from the Wildcats (0-2) in York.

Justin Doody’s 40-yard run in the second quarter gave Gardiner a 7-0 lead.

The Tigers made it 14-0 in the third quarter on a 27-yard pass from Isaac Madore to Isaac Marquis. Cainan Gero added a 25-yard interception return in the fourth and Doody scored on a 4-yard run.

BIDDEFORD 21, GORHAM 0: Estevao Lembissa rushed for two touchdowns, and the Tigers (2-0) broke open a close game in the final seven minutes against the Rams (0-2) in Biddeford.

Lembissa’s 5-yard scoring run midway through the second was the only touchdown until Biddeford quarterback Ernest Dore raced in from 13 yards with 6:32 remaining in the game.

Lembissa capped the scoring with a 21-yard run.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 30, ORONO 22: The Seagulls (2-0) built a 22-0 lead through three quarters, then held off a late rally by the Red Riots (0-2) in Old Orchard Beach.

Daniel Cashman scored on a 20-yard run in the first quarter, and Matthew Charron added a 10-yard TD in the second. Both were followed by conversion rushes by Charron, and the Seagulls led 16-0 at halftime.

Cashman made it 22-0 on a 15-yard run in the third quarter.

Orono got on the board in the fourth when Richie Watson scored on a 36-yard run and caught a conversion pass from Cooper Brown. Watson followed with a 2-yard TD run that cut the margin to 22-14, but Charron connected with Evan Moody on an 18-yard TD and threw to Holden LePaouloue for the conversion.

Brown completed Orono’s scoring by throwing a 4-yard pass to Logan Fitzgerald and rushing for the conversion.

MORSE 30, DIRIGO 15: Dylan Root ran for three touchdowns as the Shipbuilders (2-0) beat the Cougars (1-1) in Dixfield.

Root also threw a 40-yard TD pass to Caden Wells, who finished with two catches for 60 yards and had 70 yards rushing. Junah Hays ran for 80 yards and a score on 24 carries.

Hays also made 10 tackles, and Wells finished with seven.

POLAND 34, MCI 14: Sawyer Ramsdell scored a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown and on a kickoff return for the Knights (1-1) in a victory over the Huskies (1-1) in Poland.

Ramsdell opened the scoring late in the first quarter with a 2-yard run. He caught a 53-yard pass from Lucas Gayton in the second, then returned a kickoff 90 yards in the third quarter after MCI cut Poland’s lead to 21-14.

Gavin Gilbert also had a touchdown on special teams. He picked up a blocked punt and returned it to the end zone in the first quarter for a 14-0 lead.

Gayton scored from the 2 in the fourth quarter after completing a 45-yard pass to Lucas Verrill on the previous play.

Caleb Rush threw two touchdown passes for MCI. He found Nate Poissonnier for a 42-yard strike in the second quarter, and rolled out to the right and found Kenny Lackie with a 12-yard pass in the third.

LAKE REGION 30, MT. ARARAT 0: Jayden Cote rushed 16 times for 201 yards and a touchdown to lead the Lakers (1-1) past the Eagles (0-2) in Topsham.

Evan Brown scored a touchdown and rushed for two 2-point conversions for Lake Region. Braydan Wilson had a rushing touchdown and a 2-point conversion and Sullivan Webster added a TD run for the Lakers.
