vivo has officially launched its flagship X500 Pro series in China, comprising the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max. Both models are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset and feature camera systems developed with ZEISS, while each also supports photography kits and telephoto lenses designed specifically for the respective model. vivo is also touting improved video performance on both models, offering improved high dynamic range capabilities, ease of use and much more.

The new phones also carry a design that resembles the previous X300 Ultra, with both featuring a large circular camera island on the rear. The X500 Pro series is offered in White, Gray, Black and Orange, with the former three using AG glass while the Black variant uses glass fibre.

The larger X500 Pro Max measures 163.32 x 76.82 x 8.12mm for the White, Gray and Orange variants, while the Black model is slightly thinner at 7.95mm. It weighs 229g in the former colours and 225g in Black, with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner embedded into the phone. The device also carries IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, along with an Ultra Hard AR Coating for its camera lenses.

Up front, the X500 Pro Max features a 6.85-inch 2K ZEISS Master Color Display with a 1440 x 3168 resolution and 507ppi pixel density. The panel supports a variable 1Hz to 144Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 4400 nits at 20% APL, while HDR support includes Dolby Vision and Ultra XDR. It also comes with Armor Glass and SGS Low Blue Light Certification. Audio output comes through a pair of Master-Level Dual Stereo Speakers, while voice recording is handled by a Quad-Mic Audio Recording Master system. 

Under the hood, the X500 Pro Max runs on the Dimensity 9600 Pro and comes with 12GB of RAM paired with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage. It is powered by a 7800mAh BlueVolt battery, with support for 90W FlashCharge and 40W Wireless FlashCharge.

Software-wise, the phone runs OriginOS 7, with features including Origin Workbench, Origin Smooth Engine, Snap & Go, Quick Share, vivo Office Kit, Snap Note, AI Recorder and Shake & Share. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 2.4G, 5G and 6G, Bluetooth 6.0, USB 3.2 and NFC.

For photography, the X500 Pro Max is equipped with a triple-camera setup led by a 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera. This uses an HP9 Ultra-Sensing Sensor and supports OIS, CIPA 5.0 Professional Stabilization and 60fps AF Tracking.

It is joined by a 50MP ZEISS TrueDynamic Main Camera using vivo’s collaboration with Sony’s LYTIA LYT910 sensor, featuring 60fps AF Tracking and 5-axis Gimbal-Grade OIS. Completing the rear setup is a 50MP ZEISS Ultra Wide-Angle Camera using the JN5 sensor.

Selfies are handled by a 50MP ZEISS Wide-Angle Front Camera using the JN1 sensor. The camera system also supports Stage Mode 5.0, 17 EV TrueDynamic Log Video, 4K Cinematic Portrait Video, 4K Dual-View Video, Auto Framing Video, 4K Cinematic Color Video, 60fps AF Tracking and 20x Long-Range Motion Snapshot, alongside an AI Creative Camera feature.

Meanwhile, the standard X500 Pro is considerably smaller, measuring 150.78 x 71.92 x 8.12mm in White, Gray and Orange, or 7.95mm in Black. It weighs 197g in the first three colours and 192g in Black, while also featuring a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, and Ultra Hard AR Coating for the lenses.

The phone has a 6.36-inch ZEISS Master Color Display with a 1216 x 2660 resolution and 459ppi pixel density. Its 1.5K LTPO panel supports a 1Hz to 144Hz refresh rate and offers up to 4500 nits at 20% APL, with Dolby Vision and Ultra XDR HDR support. It also carries SGS Low Blue Light Certification. Audio is provided through Master-Level Dual Stereo Speakers, accompanied by a Triple-Mic System. 

Powering the X500 Pro is the same Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset, with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. Its battery capacity is smaller at 6500mAh, but it retains support for 90W FlashCharge and 40W Wireless FlashCharge.

Like the Pro Max variant, the phone also runs OriginOS 7. Connectivity options are the same as the Pro Max, comprising 2.4G, 5G and 6G Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 6.0, USB 3.2 and NFC.

For cameras, the X500 Pro has a 64MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera using the vivo x Sony LYTIA 610 sensor, along with OIS and CIPA 5.0 Professional Stabilization. This is paired with a 50MP ZEISS TrueDynamic Main Camera using the LYTIA LYT910 sensor and 1.5-inch Gimbal-Grade OIS, as well as a 50MP ZEISS Ultra Wide-Angle Camera with the JN5 sensor.

On the front is another 50MP ZEISS Wide-Angle Front Camera using the JN1 sensor. Its camera features include Stage Mode 5.0, 17 EV TrueDynamic Log Video, 4K Cinematic Portrait Video, 4K Dual-View Video, AI-Aided Framing Video, 4K Cinematic Color Video and 20x Long-Range Motion Snapshot, along with the AI Creative Camera.

The new X500 Pro Series is available in China starting today. vivo Malaysia notes that the X500 series in its entirety is expected to arrive locally by late October 2026, though exact dates and pricing have yet to be determined. For what it’s worth, the phones are already listed in SIRIM, which doubles down on its imminent launch in Malaysia.
