I am working on a browser-based AI image generator and would appreciate feedback on one specific UX problem: helping people compare prompts without making the interface feel like a spreadsheet.
The current workflow lets someone describe an image, adjust style and realism controls, then generate a result. The difficult part is what happens next. Users often change several words at once, generate again, and forget which detail caused the improvement. A history drawer records each prompt, but a long vertical list is hard to scan and encourages random iteration rather than deliberate comparison.
I am considering a two-column comparison view. Each side would show the generated image, prompt, aspect ratio, style preset, and seed. Changed words in the prompt would be highlighted, while unchanged settings would be visually muted. A small note field would let the user record why one version worked better. On narrow screens, the columns would become cards that can be swiped instead of shrinking both images.
My concern is cognitive load. Showing every parameter improves reproducibility, but it also competes with the images, which should remain the main focus. Hiding parameters behind an accordion keeps the page clean, yet it makes meaningful differences easier to miss. Color-coding changed values seems useful, although it may create accessibility issues and cannot be the only signal.
The prototype I am evaluating is connected to Realistic AI Image Generator at realisticaiimagegenerator.online, so I am especially interested in comparisons where subtle lighting, material, and camera-language changes matter. I am involved with the project and am sharing the link for concrete context rather than as a neutral recommendation.
For people who have designed version histories, creative tools, or A/B comparison interfaces: would you expose all changed settings immediately, or begin with only prompt differences and reveal technical parameters on demand? Are there established patterns for selecting a preferred image while preserving the path that led to it? I would also welcome examples where a mobile comparison interaction avoids both tiny previews and excessive back-and-forth navigation.
