MOSCOW, September 25. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Co-Foreign Minister of Nicaragua Valdrack Jaentschke confirmed readiness to boost the entire array of bilateral relations during a meeting in New York on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly.

"The Ministers praised the momentum of political dialogue and the allied nature of cooperation between Moscow and Managua on the international stage," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. "The sides expressed their mutual readiness to further expand the full range of bilateral ties in the spirit of strategic partnership."

"Particular attention was paid to the situation in and around Nicaragua in the context of the electoral reform process launched in the country," the ministry added.

Besides, the top Russian diplomat "reaffirmed Russia’s unwavering support for the Nicaraguan Government’s efforts to defend national sovereignty and the right of the brotherly Nicaraguan people to follow their own path of development."
