WASHINGTON, September 25. /TASS/. The relations between Beijing and Washington are standing at a new historical juncture, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during a state dinner at the White House.

"Today, the China-US relations are at a new historical stage," the Chinese leader said. "President Trump vowed to make America great again and help the American people to achieve significant success. China is striving for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and the modernization of the PRC [People’s Republic of China] continuously opens up new horizons. Both goals are ambitious and can complement each other."

China and the United States should seek a new approach to building relations between the two great powers, Xi Jinping continued.

"China and the US should act as responsible great powers, living up to the expectations of our peoples, keeping pace with the times and searching for new approaches to relations between our great nations," he added.
