MOSCOW, September 25. /TASS/. The Gazprom Group increased gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline in the first half of 2026, according to the issuer's report.

Gazprom maintains its lead in natural gas supplies to China. "Gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia trunk pipeline in the first half of 2026 exceeded the level seen in the first half of 2025," the document said.

The increase in Gazprom's pipeline gas supplies occurred against the backdrop of a decline in China's total gas imports (primarily LNG), demonstrating the high demand for Russian pipeline gas on the Chinese market, the company concluded.

In 2025, Gazprom became the largest gas exporter to China. Supplies via the Power of Siberia pipeline totaled 38.8 bln cubic meters of gas – 800 mln cubic meters above initial contractual obligations.

Power of Siberia is the largest gas transmission system in eastern Russia, with an export capacity of 38 bln cubic meters of gas per year. The first pipeline deliveries of Russian gas to China via the eastern route began in December 2019 under a 30-year contract signed in 2014 between Gazprom and China's CNPC. The total volume of supplies over the contract's duration will exceed 1 trillion cubic meters of gas, with a contract value of $400 bln.
