In response to the so-called Carpathian Eight initiative promoted by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Ukraine’s neighboring countries have made clear that they do not intend to be drawn into what Moscow describes as Kiev’s further geopolitical "military adventures," Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"Responding to Zelensky’s impromptu initiatives, the leaders of neighboring states made it clear that they would not rush to build or jointly use energy facilities with Ukraine," Zakharova said.

"Even harsher assessments were voiced: the regime in Kiev will not succeed in dragging the countries of the region into its further geopolitical military adventures," she added.
