Actor and self-professed foodie Stanley Tucci is best known, culinarily speaking, for his love for Italian cooking and dining.

Indeed, the Devil Wears Prada actor has graced our screens with two seasons of his food-focused show in recent years: Searching for Italy.

But fortunately for Brits seeking recommendations closer to home, the star has taken to social media to share some of his favourite places to dine in none other than Cornwall. 

It spells good news for tourism in the southwestern county, which has suffered a hit to its hospitality industry as of late. 

'I am in Fowey in Cornwall,' Stanley says in a video posted to his Instagram with his signature stylish drawl, adding: 'Every time I come down here, I never want to leave.

'I have some restaurant recommendations that I'm going to post. There's some amazing food down here!'

Last autumn, Cornwall's official tourist board entered voluntary liquidation, saying it faced 'insurmountable financial problems'. 

And in March, trendy Falmouth restaurant Hevva!, with top chef Will Johnson at the helm, announced it was closing its doors just weeks after being listed in the 2026 Michelin Guide. 

So can Stanley, with a bunch of recommended spots at the ready, lend a hand to Cornwall's food and drink scene? It remains to be seen.

But for those after a spot of culinary magic alongside a seaside break, here's a rundown of Stanley-approved spots in Fowey... 

Number one on the Tucci-approved dining list is Pintxo de Fowey, a Spanish tapas bar inspired by the Pintxo bars of San Sebastián and situated on the town's Esplanade.

'We created Pintxo to share our love of Spanish culture, sherry, wines and the very best Spanish produce,' the restaurant professes.

The vibe? Relaxed, with outdoor tables and no reservations required.

The menu includes delicacies such as albondigas (spicy meatballs), tempura anchovies and patatas bravas, with manchego cheese and plenty of sherry to try.

As for the destination and his recommendations, viewers were keen to back up Stanley's choices. 

'Fowey is a special place,' one viewer said. 'I had scallops there and they were the best. I still talk about them now! Enjoy the fun.'

'Fowey really is beautiful - that coastline is hard to beat. Cornwall at its very best,' another added. 

The second recommendation here is Bufala – and it's hardly surprising that an Italian spot hits the mark for the actor.

With its signature thin and crispy Roman-style sourdough pizzas, the restaurant uses  authentic Italian ingredients, such as Burrata mozzarella from Campania, and salamis, hams and cheeses from Bologna and Tuscany.

Homemade tiramisu is at the top of the dessert menu. 

With 4.5 stars on Google Reviews, it's clear Stanley is not alone in his love for the spot.

'Lovely restaurant with outside area overlooking the water. Our pizza was beautifully crisp and light, the tomato salad was excellent. Friendly staff and a good wine list,' one customer wrote. 

Another chimed in: 'Lovely attentive staff, super food and a wonderful view of the estuary and the boats. Highly recommend.' 

A seafood-based sharing plates restaurant overlooking the Fowey estuary, North Street Kitchen is a simple, trendy boat house that might not look like much from the outside.

But the food? It's well worth a try.

Open-plan and inviting, the Michelin Bib Gourmand 2026 spot serves salt hake, tomatoes and aioli in one dish, while another option is scallops, or a ham hock terrine.

One comment read: 'Sssh! Don’t tell everyone! They’re all good but North Street Kitchen is next level.'

For any thinking of going, though, it's worth noting that the restaurant is closing today until the week of September 28, in preparation for its winter season.
