If you've been loving the new Agatha Christie drama, Tommy & Tuppence, and are searching for a new detective duo to become obsessed with, look no further. 

The hit mystery drama, Shakespeare & Hathaway, returned to our screens with its sixth season this week – and if you've yet to watch it, you're in for a treat.

Jo Joyner and Mark Benton star as an unlikely pair of investigators: Lu Shakespeare, an optimistic ex-hairdresser, and Frank Hathaway, a grumpy ex-cop, as they solve thrilling crimes and murders in the cobbled streets of Stratford-upon-Avon.

Just like Tommy & Tuppence, Shakespeare & Hathaway's opposites attract premise is a winning format. A brilliant blend of comedy and mystery, the show is a great choice for cosy crime lovers. Keep reading to find out more. 

In season six, Lu and Frank investigate a "rather unique" dating agency while Lu gets word that her sister is getting married. Meanwhile, their assistant Sebastian wins his dream role in LA, while newcomer Bea Gardiner (Aruhan Galieva) joins the team.

Elsewhere in the series, Lu and Frank go undercover at a commune for elderly Circus performers, and investigate a local baker who finds herself accused of murder. Other cases take the detectives to an etiquette school, an escape room and a film set. 

Jo Joyner (Ackley Bridge, Little Disasters) and Mark Benton (Waterloo Road, Smoggie Queens) lead the cast as Lu Shakespeare and Frank Hathaway.

They're joined by Patrick Walshe McBride (The Chelsea Detective, The Staircase), who plays assistant Sebastian Brudenell, and new addition to the cast, Aruhan Galieva (Doctors) as Bea Gardiner. 

The series has been hailed by viewers as "addictive" and "joyful".
