A threat actor going by IamNotAVillain, previously linked to a claimed attack on Revolut, has started publishing a large data dump named "The Italy Files." The collection allegedly totals 150 GB across more than 85,000 files on over 130,000 public officials and reportedly originates from Italian government-related systems.

The same actor tied to the Revolut breach claim has now shifted focus toward Italian public-sector infrastructure. According to the actor's own claims, "The Italy Files" comprises over 85,000 files, roughly 150 GB in size, reportedly sourced from government systems. 

The Italian government data breach reportedly includes:

• personal information on more than 130,000 public officials, 
• compromised mailboxes, 
• identity records belonging to government officers, 
• passports, 
• health cards, 
• arms-license documentation,
• immigration and diplomatic documents.

If genuine, this data leak would affect a wide range of government personnel.

Paired with the passports and officer identity records already described, an immigration and diplomatic document leak raises the potential stakes, since it would touch both administrative and governmental record systems rather than a single agency.

As of now, Italian authorities and cybersecurity firms have not independently verified these claims, and the full scope of any impact remains unconfirmed.

Last week, Revolut confirmed a data breach after fraudsters exploited a real government email, with samples leaking online, including tennis player Alexander Shevchenko and Felix Römer, CEO of Gamdom/Skinscom.
