The 911 call from Carrot Top's attempt at death has been released, revealing the shock struggle to revive the comedian after he tried to take his own life via a reported overdose on prescription pills.

In the audio, which was obtained by TMZ Wednesday, the woman who discovered the comedian, 61, at his home in Las Vegas told operators he had been 'trying to hurt himself' as she continually urged him to stay awake.

The woman said that one of Carrot Top's staffers had contacted her to check on the Florida-born entertainer, whose real name is Scott Thompson.

Carrot Top had been found by the woman by his pool, she told operators, adding that he was 'barely' breathing at the time she discovered him.

The woman said that Carrot Top had been passing out while lying in rocks in the backyard area of his home. 

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Carrot Top and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for further comment on the story. 

The caller was instructed by operators to position the entertainer flat on his back, then to tilt back his head and check if he had been breathing.

The operator and woman on the scene monitored the comedian's chest movements to see if they needed to begin the CPR process.

The woman was instructed by the operator to turn Carrot Top on his side and clean out his mouth and nose if he began to vomit.

The woman told the operator that she had heard the sirens from an incoming ambulance, with the operator instructing her to make sure the door to the home was unlocked so first responders could enter.

After paramedics arrived, Carrot Top had been rushed to a nearby medical facility, where he is 'under close medical care,' his rep told Page Six Sunday.

'He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him,' his rep said.

The latest on the entertainer's condition comes amid an alleged extortion attempt aimed at the entertainer from a one-time opening act who has denied the claims. 

The tragic death attempt allegedly came after singer Brian Evans demanded $500,000 from him, or he would ship a USB drive with sexually explicit content involving Thompson to a court's legal docket, the comedian's lawyer said in a September 3 filing obtained by the Daily Mail. 

Evans said the recording on the drive had already been deleted, according to TMZ, adding that the blackmail claim against him is false.

Regarding Thompson's death attempt, Evans said that he was 'sorry that Scott apparently did something to hurt himself.' 

'I do not consider Scott to be a bad person... based on what I know - but he made a few decisions that were not good ones. That is not a reason to hurt himself,' the performer said before adding that he cannot be blamed for it. 

Evans said, 'Finally, it's not my fault... that Scott did what he did. We don't even actually know what he did. He survived and I am glad about that. Scott is still young and has a big life ahead of him. It's not my intent to bring this guy down. It's the opposite.

'I never threatened - ever - to post any video anywhere in exchange for a settlement... The video they are discussing - as I made very clear - was deleted a long time ago in accordance with the prior settlement.'

Carrot Top's rep Jami Schlicher told the Daily Mail: 'A federal court recently declared Mr. Evans a "vexatious litigant" and described his filings as "serial" and "spurious."'
