Sister Wives stars Kody Brown and wife Robyn Brown will not be in the upcoming season of the TLC reality series.

A two-minute trailer for season 21 was released by the network on Monday, along with the disclaimer: 'After 16 years of filming Sister Wives, Kody & Robyn will not be returning to the show.'

And a YouTube description teased that the show 'is entering a whole new era.' 

'Meri, Janelle, and Christine are forging their own paths while working to heal old wounds,' a description on YouTube reads.

Neither Kody, 57, nor Robyn, 47, has commented on their shock exit ahead of the October 4 premiere. 

The trailer and official promotional image feature only Janelle, 57, Meri, 55, and Christine, 54.

Christine commented about the cast shakeup in the trailer, 'I don’t know what it means. I have no idea.'

'I was flabbergasted, really, when I got the news,' Janelle said, and Meri shared, 'I was actually surprised when I was told that Kody and Robyn weren’t coming back to the show.'

Janelle shares five living kids with Kody and one who died.

She separated from Kody in December 2022, while he and Meri legally divorced in 2014 so he could marry Robyn. They were still 'spiritually' together until January 2023.

Kody 'spiritually married' Christine in 1994 and they separated in 2021, with Christine announcing in late 2021 that she had 'made the difficult decision to leave' the marriage.

Janelle and Kody split in 2022. The former polygamist's only remaining relationship is with Robyn.

Robyn previously entered the fold with three children from a prior marriage, whom Kody later adopted. 

The couple also share Solomon and Ariella, born after they got married.

Christine married David Woolley in 2023, but the recently wed couple was shown in marriage counseling in the new trailer.

The mom of six shares Aspyn, Mykelti, Paedon, Gwendlyn, Ysabel, and Truely with her ex-husband.

Meri and Kody welcomed one child, Leon Brown. 

'You know, look, I don't regret anything in the last 30 years,' Janelle said in an episode of Sister Wives earlier this year. 

'I love the family that we have, and I would do it all again in order to get the family and the kids that we have. [It] just is sort of like that chapter has ended,' she stated.

Kody was filmed going on an 'apology tour' last season, during which he addressed each of his exes about his behavior in recent years.

The father of 18 is estranged from many of his kids.
