The Security Service of Ukraine reported that an extensive network of firearms and ammunition that were exported from the ATO zone was eliminated, as it was reported by the Donetsk News.

“Law enforcers established that a resident of Uman had organized arms trade in the Cherkassy, ​​Odessa, Kiev, Vinnica and Poltava regions. The malefactor was selling factory fabricated firearms, was engaged in restoration and readjusting traumatic weapons into combat weapons for further resale in particular to representatives of crime rings,” – the SBU said.

According to law enforcers, a man was looking for clients on the Internet at specialized forums. According to the intelligence service, the detainee has accomplices in several regions. These people were transported ammunition and weapons from the ATO zone by post. One of the suspected accomplices was detained in the Odessa region.

“During a search in the residence of the trafficker, law enforcement officers seized two Nagant guns, the Kalashnikov gun, a large quantity of ammunition of various caliber and spare parts for combat weapons. The criminal investigation under part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was open. At present, inquiries are continuing,” – the SBU reported.
