Bandai Namco set the release date for its Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Super Limit-Breaking Neo DLC that adds more characters. We’ll see that fighting game add-on on July 30, 2026. However, that won’t be the only addition. Everyone will also be able to download a patch for a free update that adds Chain Blast and Sparking Boost mechanics and three stage variants. A new producer video with Jun Furutani also appeared and went over the upcoming additions to the latest Dragon Ball game. 

As a refresher, the add-on is nearly an expansion-level addition. One of the big draws is the Limit Breaker Journey solo mode that involves picking a character, choosing a destination for them on the map, taking part in a battle or event, and then leveling them up to adjust parameters, Battle Arts, and Main and Secondary Effects to make them more powerful so you can continue the routine and build them up further. There are also four new stages, over 20 new customize items like costumes and Super Attacks, and over 30 new characters. The first part of the Furutani focuses on the Limit Breaker Journey, however.

At about the 4:14 minute mark, Producer Jun Furutani goes over the free update additions to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. This segment first looks at how Sparking Boost increases a character’s attack when they are Sparking. Then, it shows how Chain Blast brings in allies to keep a combo going.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is available on the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Super Limit-Breaking Neo DLC and next free update patch release date is July 30, 2026.
