It's been a busy month for Zendaya - premiere after premiere as she publicises her new summer blockbusters, The Odyessy and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. While attending the London premieres in Leicester Square, she stepped out in two very different red-carpet beauty looks, but her make-up artist used the same £32 Charlotte Tilbury product to create both of them.
At the Spider-Man event, the newly married star walked the carpet wearing her hair long and loose, paired with a light, romantic look, flushed cheeks, rosy lips and soft, minimally defined eyes. But at The Odyssey premiere, held in the same place earlier this month, she embraced glossy, sun-kissed glamour, with make-up designed to make her look like a glowing Greek goddess.
Both looks were created by make-up artist Ernesto Casillas using Charlotte Tilbury’s Unreal Highlighter Fresh Healthy Glow Stick in Glazed Goddess, £32 - the product that Charlotte says can make everyone into a glazed goddess (and we're here for that).
The creamy highlighter gives skin a fresh, glossy sheen, rather than a glittery finish and make-up artists (and their famous clients) love it because it feels more like a skincare product than make-up.
For the most recent event, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Ernesto kept the effect light and softly polished. He explained, “We wanted to channel a much lighter, romantic feel for this beauty look,” he said. “We opted for flawless, yet minimal skin, contrasted with a pop of colour to flush the cheeks and a soft eye to create an effortless yet perfected finish.”
He used Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin Foundation in Zendaya's shade (7N) and Beautiful Skin Sun-Kissed Glow Bronzer in shade 2, then softly defined her eyes using Exagger-Eyes Easy Eyeshadow Stick in Mink Sculpt, Exagger-Eyes Volume Mascara and Brow Cheat in Dark Brown
For The Odyssey premiere earlier this month, Ernesto used the same highlighter to create a warmer, more luminous finish.
“I wanted to give Zendaya a bronzed, sun-kissed and radiant complexion worthy of a glowing Greek goddess,” he said.
“Charlotte’s Unreal Highlighter in Glazed Goddess added a beautiful glossy, glazed finish to Zendaya’s complexion. For the eyes, I created light, mesmerising eyes to echo the ethereal elegance of the dress.”
For the glittery eyes, he used three shades of Exagger-Eyes Easy Eyeshadow Stick: Mink Sculpt, Nude Sculpt and Satin Diamonds, plus the same Exagger-Eyes Volume Mascara.
Zendaya’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere make-upWe love how understated the eyes are in the Spider-Man look, a nod to the minimalist eye make-up trend that coming up this autumn. At the US version of the premiere of The Odyssey, Zendaya's mascara game was even more minimal. This look was also created by Ernesto.
He said. “We wanted Zendaya’s skin to look beautifully luminous and sun-kissed. The makeup was intentionally very minimal, with fresh, glowing skin as the foundation of the look. I layered Prada Beauty’s Touch Blush in Caffee and Cherry, £35.70 across the cheeks, nose, temples, forehead and chin, focusing on the areas where the sun would naturally hit. A touch of Prada Balm in Astral Pink, £34, brought a soft hint of life to the lips and completed the effortless, radiant finish.”
