A route hailed the "most iconic" drive in Wales has been celebrated for its "stunning" and "beautiful" scenery. For many, it evokes fond childhood memories - and it's certainly worth making the trip yourself. Wales has no shortage of beautiful sights, with countless picturesque locations drawing in tourists and locals in equal measure.
From the majestic peaks of Eryri and the breathtaking expanse of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, to the magnificent Cambrian Mountains, those with a passion for the great outdoors are truly spoilt for choice. An estimated four million people flock to Eryri annually, while the sweeping valleys and golden beaches scattered across the nation prove enormously popular with visitors.
A wonderfully rich and diverse country, Wales offers no shortage of staycation possibilities - whether you're seeking walking trails, fascinating historical landmarks, jaw-dropping coastal vistas, towering mountain summits, the legendary Wales Coast Path, or charming, laidback villages just waiting to be explored. However, one nostalgia-laden setting has recently set the internet abuzz.
It isn't one of the hundreds of castles peppered throughout the country, nor one of the rolling National Parks. Rather, it's the much-loved road leading towards Newgale in Pembrokeshire.
The popular village, nestled within the parish of Roch in West Wales, is home to a magnificent stretch of beach spanning almost two miles. The drive to the village is considered almost as stunning as the destination itself, owing to the "iconic" vistas that greet travellers along the way.
As drivers reach the hill and navigate the bend, the "beautiful" and "amazing" panorama of golden sands and pebble bank stretching below comes into view. The breathtaking scenery encompasses the thundering waves of the sea and the rugged landscape that surrounds it. On TikTok, footage captured during 'golden hour' was shared, overlaid with the words: "The most iconic drive in Wales."
In the caption, content creator Wander Wales simply wrote: "Save this for your next road trip in Wales. Newgale, Pembrokeshire, SA62 6AS."
Fellow TikTok users were quick to share their reactions in the comments section. One wrote: "Just come back from a weekend there, it's so beautiful." Another concurred: "Looks stunning."
A third said: "My favourite view!" while a fourth shared: "Just amazing."
One user said: "Making that drive next month." Another confessed: "Considering I'm from Wales, I've never been here but definitely will be visiting this summer."

A further TikTok user said: "Ahh used to go every summer camping there when I was a kid." One commenter simply shared: "Could never get bored of that view."
Meanwhile, another person commented: "I walked there once from Swansea, I was in extreme pain at this point, severe cramps, feet swollen, but this stretch of road took all the pain away for a moment."
