Dave Matthews is returning to the Nutmeg State for the first time in nearly two years to headline the 2026 edition of the Greenwich Town Party on May 23.

Matthews will be joined by longtime guitarist Tim Reynolds for his first duo performance with Reynolds in Connecticut since headlining the 2022 Sound on Sound music festival in Bridgeport. The performance will also mark Matthews return to the Greenwich Town Party after performing a surprise set at the day-long concert in 2012.

Joining Matthews on the lineup are Creedence Clearwater Revival's John Fogerty and New Orleans' Preservation Hall Jazz Band. For kids' entertainment, the Greenwich Town Party will have "Elmo's Got The Moves," an interactive song and dance show featuring Elmo and his Sesame Street friends.

Fogerty last played the Greenwich Town Party in 2016 and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band has been a fixture at a number of previous Greenwich Town Party

 The Greenwich Town Party is open for people who live or work in the town of Greenwich. Premium sponsor and neighbor tickets are available to purchase. Sponsor tickets begin at $1,567.01 for adults and neighbor tickets at $536.08. More information on general admission community tickets will be available at a future time, according to the Greenwich Town Party website. 

The Greenwich Town Party, which started in 2011, brings in famous musicians each year with Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Zac Brown Band and Paul Simon among those who have played the town party before. Last year's lineup included Alanis Morissette and Ziggy Marley.

Organized by Greenwich Town Party, Inc., a nonprofit organization, the party is not sponsored by the town of Greenwich. Organizers, however, coordinate permits, road closures and more with government officials. Sponsor contributions support 80 percent of the party costs, organizers previously told Hearst Connecticut.
