After its global release, Xiaomi India has launched its latest flagship smartphone in India – the Xiaomi 17T, bringing Leica-powered photography, flagship-level performance, advanced AI experiences, and a large silicon-carbon battery to the premium smartphone segment. Positioned as a compact flagship for creators and photography enthusiasts, the Xiaomi 17T combines a professional Leica imaging system with a dedicated 50 MP 5x periscope telephoto camera, first in its segment. It also features MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra SoC, a 1.5K AMOLED display in a slim and lightweight form factor, a 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery, and Xiaomi HyperOS 3 powered by HyperAI and Gemini integration. The smartphone is launched alongside the Xiaomi TV FX Mini LED Series featuring up to 75 inches QD Mini-LED 4K display, built-in Fire TV, 20W quad speakers, and more.

One of the biggest highlights of the Xiaomi 17T is its Leica-engineered camera system. The smartphone features a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 50 MP Leica Light Fusion 800 primary sensor with OIS, paired with a 50 MP Leica 5x periscope telephoto camera and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera. Xiaomi says the device is the only smartphone in its segment to offer a true 5x optical periscope telephoto lens with a 115 mm focal length.
The periscope camera supports up to 120x AI Ultra Zoom, telemacro photography from as close as 30 cm, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and natural optical background separation for portrait photography. Xiaomi has also integrated Leica Summilux optics, Leica UltraPure optical design, and a 1G+6P hybrid lens architecture designed to reduce flare, ghosting, and unwanted reflections while improving light transmission.
Photography features include Leica Authentic and Leica Vibrant color profiles, Leica Portrait modes, Master Portrait focal lengths ranging from 23 mm to 115 mm, Motion Tracking Focus, Lightning Burst, Stage Mode for concerts and live events, and Leica Live Moment. The new Leica Live Moment feature captures subtle motion around a still photograph, allowing users to relive moments with movement, while also supporting GIF export, collages, social media sharing, and video-to-live conversion tools.
For videography, the Xiaomi 17T supports up to 4K HDR10+ video recording at 60 fps across multiple focal lengths. Additional video features include Video Anti-Shake stabilization, 4K Night Video, Portrait Video mode, Log video recording, Dolby Vision video recording, and a three-microphone audio capture system for improved sound recording.

On the front, the Xiaomi 17T features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display (2,756 x 1,268 pixels resolution) with ultra-thin bezels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. The panel supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 12-bit color depth with over 68 billion colors, 3,840 Hz PWM dimming, DC dimming, and Xiaomi Vision Care technology. The display also carries TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, Circadian Friendly, and Intelligent Eye Care certifications for improved viewing comfort during prolonged usage.
The Xiaomi 17T adopts a compact flagship design with micro-curved edges, slim 1.5 mm bezels, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Xiaomi says the device is designed for comfortable one-handed use while maintaining a premium in-hand feel. It is available in Violet, Opal White, Blue, and Black color options.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor built on a 4nm process. The chipset features an all-big-core architecture with Cortex-A725 cores clocked up to 3.4 GHz and is paired with the Mali-G720 MC8 GPU and MediaTek NPU 880. Xiaomi claims flagship-class performance with AnTuTu scores exceeding 2 million points.

To maintain sustained performance, the smartphone incorporates Xiaomi’s advanced 3D IceLoop cooling system. The thermal architecture is designed to efficiently dissipate heat during gaming, multitasking, and camera-intensive workloads while reducing performance throttling.
The Xiaomi 17T is backed by a large 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery featuring 16% silicon content and high energy density. Xiaomi claims the battery retains over 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles. Charging duties are handled by 67W Xiaomi HyperCharge support alongside 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing the smartphone to power compatible accessories and devices.
The device runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and introduces a wide range of AI-powered features under Xiaomi HyperAI. These include AI Writing, AI Speech Recognition, AI Interpreter, AI Search, AI Dynamic Wallpapers, AI-powered editing tools, Circle to Search with Google, and deep Gemini integration. Xiaomi says HyperOS 3 is designed to create a seamless ecosystem across smartphones, smart home products, and connected devices.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, an infrared blaster, an in-display fingerprint sensor, AI Face Unlock, and Xiaomi’s new T1+ and T1S dual-chip communication system designed to improve call quality, network stability, and Wi-Fi performance in challenging environments.
