Xiaomi has officially announced the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro, the company’s latest flagship smartphones in the Xiaomi 17T Series, at an event in Austria. For the first time in the T Series lineup, Xiaomi is introducing two distinct device sizes, aiming to cater to users looking for either a more compact flagship experience or a larger high-end multimedia device.
Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 17T Pro
The Xiaomi 17T Series continues the brand’s collaboration with Leica, focusing heavily on photography and videography. Both smartphones feature a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 50 MP primary sensor paired with Leica Summilux optics and Leica UltraPure optical design.
The Xiaomi 17T features a 1/1.55-inch Light Fusion 800 sensor, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro upgrades to a larger 1/1.31-inch Light Fusion 950 sensor for improved light intake and dynamic range. Both models also include a 50 MP Leica 5x periscope telephoto camera with OIS support, capable of handling macro shots from as close as 30 cm alongside up to 10x optical-grade zoom and 120x AI Ultra Zoom.
On the video front, the Xiaomi 17T Pro supports up to 8K 30 fps recording, while the standard Xiaomi 17T supports 4K 60 fps recording. Xiaomi has also introduced new software features such as Stage Mode for concerts and low-light scenes, alongside Leica Live Moment, designed to capture contextual motion before still shots. The Pro variant further adds Ultra-HD Live Moment in 4K alongside advanced live cinematography modes.
The series also debuts Xiaomi Vision Care technology, integrating multiple eye-protection features aimed at reducing eye strain through adaptive brightness, flicker reduction, blue light management, and motion blur optimization. Both smartphones carry multiple TÜV Rheinland certifications, including Intelligent Eye Care certification.
In terms of display, the Xiaomi 17T sports a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro features a larger 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with up to 144 Hz refresh rate. Both displays support Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 3,840 Hz PWM dimming, DC dimming, and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. The Pro model additionally introduces ultra-slim 1.29 mm symmetrical bezels using LIPO packaging technology.
The Xiaomi 17T Series features micro-curved edges and brushed side finishes. The Xiaomi 17T will be available in Violet, Opal White, Blue, and Black color options, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro comes in Deep Blue, Deep Violet, and Black.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17T Pro is powered by the flagship 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC paired with the MediaTek NPU 990 and a 12-core Mali G1-Ultra GPU. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17T uses the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra SoC with Mali-G720 MC8 graphics. Both smartphones utilize Xiaomi’s new 3D IceLoop cooling system, which uses vapor-liquid separation technology for improved thermal management during gaming and multitasking.
Battery capacity has also received a major upgrade this generation, thanks to silicon-carbon battery technology. The Xiaomi 17T Pro packs a massive 7,000 mAh battery with support for 100W wired HyperCharge, 50W wireless charging, and 100W PPS charging support. The standard Xiaomi 17T houses a 6,500 mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge and 50W PPS charging support.
