Perodua has announced a significant price reduction for the Axia, making Malaysia’s most affordable compact car even more accessible to buyers. Effective immediately, prices for the popular hatchback have been reduced by up to RM4,700, with the entry-level Axia 1.0G now starting from just RM33,900 in Peninsular Malaysia.
According to Perodua, the price revision is the result of ongoing improvements in operational efficiency and cost optimisation across its production and supply chain. The company said the savings have been passed directly to customers without compromising the Axia’s specifications or quality.
Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said the move is part of the company’s efforts to help ease the rising cost of living faced by Malaysians.
He added that the company’s continued focus on operational effectiveness has also enabled reduced servicing costs, as well as revised pricing for its QV-E and Battery as a Service (BaaS) offerings.
The company emphasised that the lower pricing is achieved purely through continuous improvement initiatives carried out together with its local suppliers and partners within Malaysia’s automotive ecosystem.
The Axia remains one of Perodua’s most important models, serving as an affordable and practical daily vehicle for first-time buyers, students, young families and urban commuters. With the revised pricing, Perodua aims to make vehicle ownership even more attainable for a wider range of Malaysians.
The updated Peninsular Malaysia pricing is as follows:
