CHEYENNE, WYO. — Wuffes announced the appointment of Jonny Purcell as chief executive officer, following his leadership as president of the company since May 2025. During his time at the company, Purcell led Wuffes through a period of growth, including its expansion into retail.

Founded in 2020 by Sam Venning and Josh Savinson with a mission to help dogs live longer, healthier and happier lives, Wuffes offers science-backed, premium supplements that support longevity, mobility and overall wellbeing. In five years, the brand has surpassed $100 million in annual sales, served more than 1.2 million dogs and ranked No. 400 on the 2025 Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

“We started Wuffes to solve a problem we felt personally and saw all around us: dogs struggling with their joints, and owners with little they could really trust to support their beloved pets,” Venning and Savinson said. “We’re proud to have built something that genuinely helps them live their loudest, wildest, best days again.”

Purcell has spent more than a decade advising consumer brands, most recently as director of Raymond James. Prior to joining Wuffes as president, he spent two years as a strategic advisor to the company. During his tenure as president, he helped transform Wuffes from a direct-to-consumer (DTC) brand into a national omnichannel company.

“Wuffes has reached a scale where it needs a different kind of leadership to realize its full potential, and no one knows this category better than Jonny. He came in, saw what we’d started, and is making it bigger and more impactful thatnwe could’ve imagined,” Venning and Savinson said. “Since he became president, we’ve watched the team make great decisions that simply don’t need us in the room, exactly as it should be. Elevating Jonny to CEO is the natural next step as he steers Wuffes to No. 1 brand status.”

Purcell added, “Being named CEO of the company Sam and Josh built is a privilege. Dog wellness is one of the great consumer categories still waiting for its defining brand, and Wuffes has the ingredients to be it: the science to rethink how this category’s products are built, from formulations to formats, and the discipline to earn trust from the living room to the examination room. Serving more than 1.2 million dogs tells us it’s working. In the coming months, we’ll start showing what it makes possible.”

Venning and Savinson will step down from managing day-to-day operations but will continue to advise the company on its board of directors.
