If I had to choose one social issue that matters most to me, it would be men’s mental health. It’s something that affects people from every background, yet it’s still a conversation many are uncomfortable having.

Too often, men feel like they have to carry everything on their own because they’ve been taught that asking for help is a sign of
weakness. I don’t believe that’s true at all.

Music has always been my way of processing life, and over the years I’ve had countless people reach out to tell me that a song helped them through a difficult time. Those messages have reinforced why I write. If a three-minute song can make someone feel understood, even for a moment, then it’s doing something meaningful.

That’s a big part of the inspiration behind my latest single, One Life. I wanted to write something that reminds people that no matter how difficult life gets, there is still hope, there are still people who care, and tomorrow can look different from today. Sometimes all it takes is one conversation to change the direction of someone’s life.

I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I do believe we can all make a difference by simply checking in on the people around us. A text message, a phone call, or taking a few minutes to really listen can mean more than we realize.

If my music encourages even one person to speak up, ask for help, or look out for someone else, then I’ve accomplished something far more important than any streaming number or milestone.
