IRKUTSK, September 28. /TASS/. Friendly countries are showing interest in the MC-21 aircraft, with discussions, meetings and presentations of its capabilities being underway, Andrey Soinov, Director of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, a branch of the Yakovlev Public Joint Stock Company of the United Aviation Corporation (UAC) of Rostec, told reporters.

"The foreign market is among our priorities and, consequently, our services are currently working on potentially supplying the aircraft to friendly countries. However, we have no more capacity through 2032, given our obligations. The interest is there, discussions, meetings, presentations of the aircraft’s capacities are underway," he said.

After the contract for the second batch of 90 MC-21 aircraft for Aeroflot is signed, the enterprise’s capacity will be fully utilized through 2032, Soinov noted, adding that agreements on the foreign market will be concluded with aircraft deliveries scheduled after 2032.

The MC-21 is a Russian-made medium-haul passenger aircraft with a capacity of up to 211 passengers, which is designed to replace the Tu-154 and the Tu-204 family on the Russian market. It will also serve as an alternative to foreign-made aircraft. The aircraft is expected to complete all certification procedures by the middle of 2027, head of the Federal Agency for Air Transport Dmitry Yadrov said earlier.
