Fans still have time to catch up on Netflix's steamiest thriller before its final season completes the story.

Outer Banks made its debut on the streaming platform back in 2020. Since then, it has celebrated four seasons released in total, each comprising of 10 episodes.

A fifth and final season is set to land later this month (August 20). According to its initial synopsis, the series is set in a coastal town along the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where there is a stark social divide between the working-class locals and the wealthy seasonal residents, nicknamed the Pogues and Kooks, respectively.

The show follows a group of Pogue teenagers who live at The Cut and are determined to find out what happened to the missing father of the group's ringleader, John B. Along the way, they discover a legendary treasure that is tied to John B's father.

Chased by the law and a wealthy group of Kooks from Figure Eight, the Pogues seek to overcome obstacles such as love, fighting, friendship, and money.

Netflix have already confirmed that the final season will see the group at its absolute breaking point following a tragic loss. Not only that but they continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats.

Their mission involves a desperate race to reclaim their future and finally win the freedom they’ve been chasing since the beginning. There is still time to catch up on all episodes so far with enough time to be prepared for when the final chapter lands.

There's no better time to begin a binge watch either, as fans insist that it is one of the streamer's superior offerings. As one person claimed: "One of the best shows to come from Netflix. A guaranteed must watch!! Very excited to see what happens next and where it goes!!"

Some urged others to not be put off if they usually avoid the genre. A fan added: "Teen drama but hooks you in and surprisingly keeps you hooked so that it's impossible to stop watching."
