It is shameful that the feds pulled so much funding from the Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley in Longmont here that they are in danger of closing, and I hope people who have funds to contribute to that organization do so, because they save lives. Unfortunately, there’s more victims of domestic violence that are in need of this service than ever. At the same time, the president and the Republicans are wasting taxpayer dollars buying shock gloves for violent ICE agents. Please, contact your representatives, and let them know that they need to fix this mess. It’s terrible.

Consider not only who uses the Vance Brand Airport but for what does the airport exist. To get, say, attorneys to the state Capitol when the winter storms come? Ooh, what about the ground commute from Rocky Mountain Airport, Centennial or DIA, Front Range Airport even? Is this needed to bring mail, medical essentials or just-in-time industrial inputs? How about travel for well-known film stars, athletes or other public figures? I guess I just don’t know.

• I feel it is very sad that the TC Line will end on Sept. 6. I read it every day that it’s in the paper, and I hope you reconsider removing it. I believe it is a big part of the way to sound off over current events.

• I enjoy reading the TC Line, and now you eliminate it. I might have to eliminate the Times-Call.

• I was happy to see the anonymous TC Line calls column ending. Although, I admit I’ve called myself. I’ve long believed it adds little value to our community and is the opposite of the old Times-Call motto: “To build a better world, start in your own community.” Good call, editors.

Gabe Evans is a running a reelection advertisement on television touting how he has done a lot for his district to help them with their healthcare. That is pretty rich considering that Gabe Evans voted for the big One Big Beautiful Bill that is making it hard for the people in his district to get health insurance, and if they do, it is costing them more money. He is not telling the truth. He did not help them with their healthcare needs. He needs to be voted out of office.

I thought I would let everyone know that the Denver Summit FC had a fantastic win at home against the Chicago Stars on Saturday night. Apparently, devoting one to two column inches to Colorado’s only professional women’s sports team is impossible in this paper.
